Wednesday Night

Wednesday night was an unusual experience! About 10 minutes before service was to start, a transformer in the neighborhood blew. We were so glad to have the emergency lights in the entry and the back of the sanctuary, so that we could proceed with service. We had our ten-stringed instruments for accompaniment and our voices. There was a sweet presence of God there (I'm glad His Spirit never goes out like the transformer!). The electricity came back on just shortly before Keith finished his lesson.

Update on Remodeling
Well, things never seem to happen on time anyway. It has been another busy week. The cabinet doors are half finished and the mirror is still being reframed.

We had to rush to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital on Tuesday night to see Keith's mother. She had a triple bypass at the end of June, but 2 of the bypasses had already clogged up (one of them 100%). She started out at a hospital near their home, but started having some complications so they careflighted her to DPH. Thank God, the cardiac intervention doctor was able to put stents in the two veins for immediate relief for her. She is doing much better and they are expecting for her to go home tomorrow.

We had a sad parting with our dog, Belle. After much consideration, we sold her back to the breeder. After numerous landmines that she dug in the yard and chewing on the house (we will be replacing our back porch poles - or part of them), we had to get rid of her. She needed much more attention than we could give her (Yes, Gene and Karla, I am still crying - I do miss her even with her chewing and all).

Wow! What a roller coaster of a week! The "powerless" services seem to have a power from on high! We had one of those at Life Tab once - we gathered candles from all over the church and had a candlelight service. It actually was a great time and we threatened to try it again on purpose! We will saying a prayer for Keith's mom. Good to hear that she is doing better. AND...Belle, may she rest in peace. Dogs have a way of weaseling their way into your heart...even Carla's!

Aww! I'm so sorry about the dog. I know the girls are disappointed. Maybe there will be another one someday.
